Denk- und Produktionsort

For several years, every summer we were able to provide a different culinary scholarship holder at Libken with the house, stove, and kitchen for experimenting with regional products and testing new recipes. From this time comes the tradition of the Long Table. Since then, the format has been revived roughly once a year, usually in autumn during the harvest (thanksgiving) season.

When: October 12, 2024, from 5 PM – Installation inauguration followed by dinner, from 8 PM – Bar Paradieschen, bonfire, and music

Registration via: anmeldung@libken.de

Cost for participating in the dinner: €15 to €25 (depending on capacity)

“Lange Tafel” – FOOD & SHELTER

With an autumnal meal at a long table and the inauguration of a new outdoor space on the grounds, we close the 2024 season. You are warmly invited to join us!

BEYOND SHELTER is a project by Jonas Klock. The nomadic architecture combines his love for design, architecture, and adventure. It encourages reflection on our relationship with nature and its resources. It is also a space of hospitality, inviting shared experiences. The installation will be on display at ACRE in Kreuzberg until October 8, 2024. On October 12, 2024, we inaugurate it at Libken!*

storie di fagioli (Bean Stories) will be served at the Long Table by Cécile Kobel. “I believe that in simplicity and the steady repetition of simple things, something precise and special can emerge. I am excited to cook a table with different bean variations at Libken. They will each be complemented with seasonal local vegetables, highlighting a food that is often underestimated.”

Once the last beans are eaten, we move on to the bonfire, music, and delicious drinks from the mobile Bar Paradieschen, run by Olaf Maurer out of an old fire truck. This summer, they traveled extensively through the Uckermark – and even appeared on television. We are delighted that they are now joining us to welcome autumn. Even if you do not join the meal, you are warmly invited to stop by for a drink!

*BEYOND SHELTER will remain on the Libken grounds after October 12, 2024, and can be visited, climbed, and inhabited at any time.
